Jeanne
Marie Lucas, soprano, holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern
University and a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from
the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA where she won the 2003
Honors Competition. Early Music studies at Longy included appearances
in Peri’s Euridice and Jacquet de la Guerre’s Cephale
et Procris as well as coursework in Elizabethan Song, French Airs
de Cours, and 17th century monody. She has performed regularly with
Boston Secession, Cappella Clausura, A Joyful Noyse, and Boston
Lyric Opera. Solo engagements include Handel's Messiah with the
Lexington Philharmonic and recitals with lutenist Jim Meadors, organist
Gregory Peterson, and pianists Naoko Sugiyama and Anny Cheng. An
active church musician, she serves the Lexington United Methodist
Church as Music Director. She also conducts the Boston Accueil French
Chorale and teaches private voice students.
